It was September 11th and my 48th birthday. I was alone watching the 2nd airliner hit the 2nd tower. I had to tell someone so I woke Marcel. He was suprised because I usually didn’t have to wake him for work. He said “Happy Birthday. Sally” and I said “My birthday is fucked and so is World Peace. Two commercial jets just slammed into the World Trade Towers in New York”. He got up and quietly sat with me as we watch the towers come down and turn to dust. Marcel was who you wanted to be with when the world is falling apart…
I see God in you, Marcel

]]>For the last 10 years….Marcel’s influence has been in my habits and mannerisms…or maybe in just the way I think to myself.
Marcel was a gift that I never asked for…but never forgot. In the first years of knowing him, he saved me from myself numerous times…Always there when I needed someone who wouldn’t push too hard but was always able to guide, while making it seem like it was my idea in the first place.
Marcel will forever be my silent guide…
]]>I can’t believe you are gone….I have such great admiration for you and will sure miss your great hugs and comforting words. My fondest memories are of our laughs over the years and I thank you for enriching my life. We will all miss you so much Marcel. May you rest in peace and live on eternally in our hearts…
Love, Erica
